We start our walk in Beyazit Square with a visit to Beyazit Mosque before we explore the Old Ottoman Book Bazaar of Istanbul. Later we will stroll through the bazaar streets of Mahmutpasa where locals shop for anything from wedding to circumcision costumes. From Mahmutpasa we will walk through the backstreets exploring lesser known Ottoman Inns and walk downhill towards Tahtakale, another market area for locals selling spices and housewares. Here we will visit the Rustempasa Mosque well known for its blue Iznik tiles. Later we will take a ferry crossing the Bosporus waterway to Kadıköy in Asian Istanbul. We will visit an Armenian Orthodox church before lunch break at Çiya Restaurant well known for its delicious homemade Turkish dishes. After lunch we will explore the fish market before taking a ferry to Besiktas District where will see the tomb of Barbarossa the Redbeard. From Beşiktaş we will take public transport to Taksim Square where we will start our walk to Istiklal Caddesi the high street of Istanbul. Istiklal is the place for shopping, dining, leisure and nights out for locals. From Istiklal we will stroll through the back streets of Galata downhill to Karakoy where the tour ends and you will be taken to your hotel area by public transport.
