UKNOWN CAPPADOCIA TOUR

Your tour guide and driver will meet you at your hotel lobby at 09:00 AM in Cappadocia and proceed to visit an Underground city which is hardly visited by large tour groups. Underground Cities in Cappadocia were carved out of soft rock where locals took shelter during wartime in ancient and medieval times. After underground city, travel to Soganli valley where you will walk in this beautiful Valley exploring some of the cave churches with frescoes. Later we will explore the local village where they have been living here for centuries making dolls out of wood and local fabrics. After lunch we will proceed to explore more unknown Cappadocia such as Sahin Efendi, Cemil and Mustafa Pasa villages. We visit hidden churches, cave houses and monasteries along the way. Tour will end at your hotel around 17:00 PM.

Please note

This is a fullday guided private tour of less visited places in Cappadocia. You will be picked up from your hotel in Urgup, Goreme, Uchisar, Nevsehir, Avanos, Mustafapasa, Ortahisar or Cavusin. If your hotel is somewhere else, then please ask if there is any additional charge due to distance involved.

IHLARA VALLEY TOUR

We’ll start the morning with a comfortable drive out into the countryside, heading southwest. Our first stop is the Selime Monastery, an enormous rock-cut monastery at the end of the valley. It’s not just impressive in size—it’s like stepping into a stone fortress from a fantasy novel. You'll climb up through its winding tunnels, peek into ancient chapels, and enjoy sweeping views over the valley below.

Then we head into the valley itself. Ihlara Valley is a lush, peaceful gorge carved by the Melendiz River. Picture a walking path beneath tall canyon walls, with birds singing and the gentle sound of water flowing beside you. We’ll take a scenic 3 to 4 km walk (flexible based on your pace), stopping to explore cave churches hidden in the cliffs, many with colorful frescoes that have survived centuries.

At midday, we’ll stop in Belisırma Village, a sleepy riverside spot perfect for lunch. You can sit by the water and enjoy traditional Turkish dishes—maybe try gözleme (Turkish pancake) or the famous pottery kebab.

On the way back, if you're up for one more adventure, we can visit Derinkuyu Underground City. It’s the deepest in Cappadocia, with levels of tunnels, rooms, and air shafts that early Christians used to escape invasions. It’s a bit surreal (and wonderfully cool on a hot day!).

We’ll return to your hotel in the late afternoon, full of fresh air, great memories, and probably a hundred photos.
