Two weeks tour Turkey

 Arrival day in Istanbul. After customs clearance, look for a sign with your name at the arrival hall of airport to meet your driver and transfer to your hotel in the old city. Later meet your tour guide in the evening for a tour briefing to go through the details of your Turkey tour. Overnight in Istanbul. 

 A morning guided tour of old Istanbul including Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Hippodrome and Underground Basilica Cistern. Later take a boat trip alaong the Bosporus to explore the legendary waterway that divides Europe and Asia. Overnight in Istanbul. B.  

 Morning flight to Cappadocia and a guided tour of central Cappadocia. Today you will visit Uchisar for a panoramic view of Cappadocia and exploring a cave house for a great introduction to Cappadocia. Later drive to Cavusin village to explore the old part where many cave house has been deserted in the last century. Drive to Pasabagi to see fairy chimneys. After lunch visit Avanos pottery workshop to see how terracotta and blue tiles made. Later visit Goreme open air museum to see some of the finest cave churches with well-preserved frescoes. Overnight in Cappadocia. B.D. 

Optional Balloon flight in the early morning. Today you will visit Kaymakli Underground City where locals took shelter during wartime in ancient and medieval times. After underground city, travel to Soganli valley where you will walk in this beautiful Valley exploring some of the cave churches with frescoes. Later we will explore the local village where they have been living here for centuries making dolls out of wood and local fabrics. After lunch we will proceed to explore more unknown Cappadocia such as Sahin Efendi, Cemil and Mustafa Pasa villages. We may also visit hidden churches, cave houses and monasteries along the way. Overnight in Cappadocia. B.D. 

 This morning we will follow the ancient Silk Road to the town of Konya where Rumi founded the Sufi order of Mevlevis known as whirling dervishes. We will visit an old Caravanserai on the Silk Road before Konya where merchants and travelers used to stay. In Konya we will visit the Museum of Whirling Dervishes to see how dervishes used to live in the past. Enjoy a local lunch in Konya and continue to the lake town of Egirdir. Overnight in Egirdir. B.D. 

 This morning we will travel through Taurus Mountains to the ancient site of Arycanda hidden in the mountains. Arycanda is a well preserved site and a great introduction to the life and culture of ancient Greeks and Romans as all classic structures are well located and preserved. After a lunch break we will continue to the seaside town of Kas on the Mediterranean. Overnight in Kas. B.D. 

 Today is a free day in Kas at your leisure. You can either take a boat trip to Kekova Island and the cove or visit nearby Greek Island ıf Meis also known as Kastellorizo. Overnight in Kas. B.D. 

 A lovely day to explore ancient Lycia through remains of Patara and Xhantos. Visit a local village for a walk and enjoy a home lunch in the village. In the late afternoon continue to Fethiye. Overnight in Fethiye. B.L. 

 Today we will travel to Pamukkale to see calcified rock terraces created by a natural hot spring. We will also visit the nearby ruins of Hierapolis which has a well preserved theatre and largest necropolis with different tombs. Overnight in Pamukkale. B.D. 

 This morning we will travel through fertile meander valley to the ancient city of Aphrodisias, a city dedicated to the Goddess of Beauty. Aphrodisias was famous with its sculpturing school and the quality of its marble. We will enjoy a walking guided tour of this well preserved site to see a theatre, Sebastion, Hadrian's bathhouse, temple of Aphrodite and a massive stadium. In the afternoon we will continue to the town of Selcuk. Overnight in Selcuk. B.D. 

Today we will visit the House of Virgin Mary, which is a major pilgrimage site, then Ephesus, with the Library of Celsius, Temple of Hadrian, Agora and fantastic Greco-Roman theatre (Entrance to the Terrace Houses is optional and due an extra entry fee). We will also visit the Ephesus Museum where findings from Ephesus are displayed. Overnight in Selcuk. B.D. 

Today we will drive further west along the Aegean coast to ancient Pergamon to visit the Acropolis with its massive temple of Trajan and a steep theater and then continue to Asklepion which used to be a hospital in ancient times. Enjoy walk with your tour guide around the remains of this ancient hospital to see how patients were treated with water and dreaming. In the late afternoon we will drive to Assos a lovely village on the Aegean coast opposite the Greek Island of Lesbos. Overnight in Assos. B.D.  

Today we have a leisure morning and then a visit to the hilltop of Acropolis of ancient Assos where Aristotle established a school of philosophy. Later continue to legendary Troy, the Homeric city mentioned in the Iliad by Homer. Today it is an archeological sites with 9 different layers of civilization. After a guided tour of Troy we will continue to Canakkale on the Dardanelle. Overnight in Canakkale. B.D. 

Morning visit to the WW1 memorials of ANZAC at Gallipoli where we will visit Anzac cove, Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair cemetery before we travel to Istanbul. Check into your hotel and free time before we meet for a farewell dinner this evening. B.D. 

 Today you will be picked up from your hotel 3 hours prior to your outbound flight departure and transfer to the airport. Tour will end at the airport. B.
