Meet your tour guide at 09:30 AM in Eminonu (we will email you exact meeting point once you book your tour) and proceed to ferry pier to take public ferry to cross Bosporus to Üsküdar, a conservative neighbourhood on the Asian side of Istanbul. Here we will start our first culinary walk and stop in a 200 years old local candy store to taste Turkish Sherbets which are generally made for special occasions. We will taste different Sherbets and candies. Then we will stop at ta local bakery shop to talk about bread and its importance in Turkish culture. Continue through food market to a doughnut shop. After tasting some cinnamon flavoured sweet doughnut we will head to a coffee house to learn how Turkish coffee is made. Enjoy your coffee and continue to Kadikoy by public bus.
Our second culinary walk will be through the food and fish market of Kadikoy visiting a pickle shop and taste different food from pastrami to stuffed mussels. And then we will have a stop at Çiya Restaurant which is a culinary treasure for sampling fine Turkish pizza known as Lahmacun and their famous pumpkin dessert.
Later we will take a ferry to Eminonu and start our third food walk around spice market and tahtakale market to taste different dry food. We will have a stop at a local baklava shop who have been making baklava since 1912 and taste finest baklava along with Katmer, folded layers of phyllo stuffed with pistachio and milky semolina filling and sweetened sugar sauce.
Tour will end around 15:00 PM at spice market. Your tour guide can help you about how to get back to your hotel.
