Day 1 Arrive in Ankara. 

Arrive in Ankara Airport and look for a sign with your name on it at the arrival hall to meet your driver and transfer to your hotel. In the evening meet your tour guide for a briefing to go through the tour details. Overnight in Ankara.

Day 2 Ankara - Hattusa - Amasya. 

In the morning a guided tour for the Museum of Ancient Anatolian Civilization and drive to Hattuşa, capital of ancient Hittite Empire. Arrive in the town of Amasya in the evening. Overnight in Amasya. B.D

Day 3 Amasya - Samsun - Fatsa. 

In the morning a walking tour of Amasya including the Ottoman Mosque complex of Beyazit, Pontic Rock Tombs and Hazeranlar  Konagi, an old Ottoman wooden mansion on the bank of Yesil Irmak before we drive along the beautiful Black Sea coast through hazelnut groves to the small town of Fatsa, visiting Samsun which was called Amissos and it is believed to be an Amazonian town. We will see some old Tumulus tombs from ancient Greek times. Overnight in Fatsa. B.D.

Day 4 Black Sea Coast - Trabzon.

Today we will drive on to Trabzon.  We will visit Hagia Sophia a 13th Century church and in the afternoon we will visit Sumela Monastery built into a cliff in the Black Sea Mountains. Overnight stay in Trabzon. B.D.

Day 5 Eastern Blacksea - Savsat - Karakoy. 

This morning we will drive along the Eastern Black Sea coast through tea gardens and terraces to the High Mountains of Savsat. We will be guests of a local family in the village of Karakoy in the Sahara Mountain and National Park. B.D.

Day 6 Sahara Mountain National Park Trekking. Free day. 

There are several trails available in the surrounding valleys and ridges all the way to the peak of Mt Sahara with breath-taking scenery of Kackar Mountains. B.L.D.

Day 7 Ardahan - Kars - Ani. 

Drive through highlands of Eastern Turkey to the town of Kars. In the afternoon we will visit ancient Ani the 10th Century capital of Armenian Bagratid Kingdom. We will see well preserved churches, a Cathedral and a Mosque from Seljuk period. B.D

Day 8 Mount Ararat - Dogubeyazit - Ishakpasa Palace - Van.

Drive to Dogubeyazıt via the biblical Mount Ararat and visit Ishakpasa Palace. Afternoon drive to Van and visit Van Castle the ancient capital of Urartian Tushba on the shore of the largest lake in Turkey, Lake Van. Overnight in Van. B.D.

Day 9 Van - Akdamar Island.

Today we will visit the ancient Urartian site of Cavustepe and take a boat on Lake Van to Visit Akdamar Island to see the beautiful 10th century Armenian Church of the Holy Cross, known for its wall carvings. Overnight in Tatvan. B.D.

Day 10 Hasankeyf - Mardin.

An early start to Mardin a town of great local architectural character. On the way we will visit Hasankeyf, an old town on Tigris River bank. Overnight stay in Mardin. B.D.

Day 11 Diyarbakır - Mt Nemrut - Kahta.

In the morning visit Diyarbakır medieval Inns, Ulucami and Towers of city wall. Later we will drive to Mt Nemrut where we will see the Giant Stone heads from 1th BC. Overnight in Kahta. B.D.

Day 12 Urfa - Ephrates - Gobekli Tepe.

Today we will visit Ataturk Dam Lake built on the Euphrates on the way to Urfa.  We will also visit Gobekli Tepe, a recently discovered ancient sacred site which is the oldest temple in the world so far. In the late afternoon your tour guide will take you on a walking tour to explore the oriental traditional bazaar of Urfa and Holy Fish Lake. Overnight in Sanliurfa. B.D.

Day 13 Halfeti - Zeugma - Gaziantep. 

Today we will travel to Halfeti located on the Euprates. Today this part of Euprates Valley is flooded by Birecik Dam. We will go on a boat trip to see a submerged village and enjoy in the surrounding view of Euphrates Basin. Later we will drive to ancient Zeugma which was a border garrison town for a Roman Legion on the Euphrates. In the afternoon we will drive to Gaziantep where we can see the beautiful mosaics of ancient Zeugma in the museum. Overnight in Gaziantep. B.D.

Day 14 Istanbul. 

Morning flight to Istanbul. Transfer to the hotel and the rest of day free to explore this marvelous city or alternately you can join one of our guided day tour. In the evening meet for a farewell dinner. Overnight in Istanbul. B. D.

Day 15 Istanbul departure. 

You will be picked up from your hotel 3 hours prior to your outbound flight departure for a transfer to the airport and tour will end at the airport. B.

NOTES:

Maximum number of people on this tour is 12 people and minimum age is 14 years old. Travelers under 18 years old can be accepted to join this tour on the condition that they are accompanied by a parent or guardian who accepts the full responsibility for them. Parents travelling with younger children are recommended to inquire for a private tour.
